Supermoon (2016)

16 Nov

The super moon came around on November 14th and I had a pretty good idea bring some attention to it. It took me at least one week before before then to think up the concept, type the script on Word Pad, draw everything on one sheet of paper, and add the colors. The result: comical writing and images, an astronomical lesson, and a visual aid all wrapped together into one piece of edutainment.

Like I said before, my expanding on certain characters makes my series look promising. A moon orbit model around Yonda? Very fitting! It has been quite a while since I drew Damsel 5000, but I found one good use for her. Other uses for her remain a mystery, but I’m sure something will come along in the future. Plus, I came up with a (one-shot) character called Supermoon and some background camera characters you see running behind Vivian. You know, Blockopolis wouldn’t be much of a city if it didn’t have more citizens.

Ice Bucket Challenge 2016

31 Aug

Last year, I had Yonda, Boomer, and Dwight participate, so now I have the remainder of the nominees taking the challenge in different ways.

I start off with typing the text and make ‘thumbnails’ of the pages, giving me an idea of how they’ll appear when I add the text and images. Seeing as how long the latest pages are compared to the previous ones, I think I’ve improved more on my ability to tell stories, although I could use a lesson in drawing comics better. However, I’ve recently learned that it’s all right if a work of art is ‘finished, not perfect’ and being able to complete something will give you more confidence and a better sense of purpose.
